Basically this is a repaint of the basic Sentinel I picked up on clearance at Wal Mart for 30 bucks. I wanted a more classic paint job and I wanted it to look scuffed, scraped and dirty to give it a more battle worn look. I also added energy blasters to the palms of both hands.
I disassembled the figure and cleaned it with alcohol. I used filed down watch caps from Stikfas figures for the palms. I drilled into each hand to sink them to where they protruded just slightly from the palm then painted the inside of them. I painted flat black on the shoulder joints, upper arms and hip joints. I mixed both shades of purple from Testors acrylic paint then applied them with a brush. I re-assembled the figure and then used silvers and flat tan to weather and dirty it up a bit.
I built models for years and started geting into customizing action figures when Stikfas came out but this is my first large scale full repaint. It's not perfect but I'm still trying to work out the weathering and wear on figures. The technics I used on model trucks don't work quite as well on some of the rough/inconsistant textures on figures.
