Okay, here goes. I wanted a custom figure of actor John Rockwell as he appeared in the title roll of Superboy in the 1960 TV Series Pilot for the "Adventures of Superboy". So, using an extra COIE Series 3 Earth-Prime Superboy, I set about creating one.

The figure is a pretty straight-forward custom. I slapped on new chest and cape symbols with a little glue (both symbols were made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, these are drawn to more closely approximate the symbol worn on John Rockwell's costume in the pilot...also, it should be noted that the cape symbol worn by John Rockwell was red and yellow, unlike the more traditional all yellow symbol of the comics), and TA-DA...Superboy as he appeared in the 1960 TV Series Pilot for the "Adventures of Superboy"!!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.

That is neat. Talk about a footnote to comics history. And I googled and found AOS 1961 is available on YT! Thanks!

Glad you liked it, claytonemery. It is indeed a footnote to comics history, but a beloved one, at least as far as I am concerned. The episode is available on YT, but it was also legally released on the Smallville complete series boxset last year, and there are a few people offering bootleg copies of it on EB. Message me if you need to find what to look for.

Thanks glad you liked it. I tend to do a lot of customs from the Silver Age, especially Superboy ones, whether they are from the comics or TV.

Thanks. It was a pain in the butt to get the symbols right, but in the end, it was well worth it. Glad you liked it.
