2/19/13: I've wanted to revisit my Batwoman figure for awhile. There were some things about it that I wanted to improve:
- the boots and gauntlets seemed too thick for her so I removed the Sculpty from them to streamline then more
* I used a bit of Sculpy to fill in the spaces on the original Batgirl boots instead of sculpting the entire boot
* I used a tiny piece at the bottom of both gloves to give the impression that she is wearing a separate piece. Used small strips of rubber band around the original spikes to create the other part of the gauntlet
- I reformed the hair using Sculpty to make it more like how it appears in her book
- Painted her face a paler color
- Attached an extra piece to her cape over her shoulder

I'm a lot more satisfied with how this figure came out. I keep hoping, though, that DC releases a current version of Batwoman sooner rather than later

(The first pic btw is the BEFORE one; the second is the AFTER)

The original DCD Batwoman was nice but it's been out of date for a few years. I wanted a figure that looked more like Kate Kane does now in the books. I wasn't happy using the usual Marvel Selects or DCUC female bodies out there. They looked too thin and---"girlish" to me. This is BatWOMAN after all. I finally hit on using the DCD Justice Batgirl. It's just over 6 inches so she's taller than most of the other female figures I've seen but not as tall as my Batman. I really like how Ross's sculpt captures the natural curves of a woman's body and made her look more fully developed. The downside of course is the limited articulation these figures have. For the rest I used:

gauntlets and boot tops--sculpted
symbol--painted
belt-- from an Ed McGuiness Batwoman from the Superman/Batman series
cape (Batwoman should have a huge flowing cape like in the books)-- from a Batman figure (DCD Batman and Son series)
head-- DCD Batwoman head. I took off her original hair and added sculpted hair.

I like it overall--at least til DCD gives me an updated figure!

That's one Alex Ross figure I just loved. That Batgirl has great proportions, you're right, and it makes a nice Batwoman, Good job.

Looks great! The Alex Ross figures always make good base figures. Nice work!

excellent work! I wish DCD would show the same level of enthusiasm to change and attention to character as they did to the New Green Lantern Baz.

Did you seal the hair & gauntlets so it wouldn't fade or chip? (I'm almost sure you did, but please include those details in your description/reply)

thanks so much! and yes, she does have a think layer of sealant on her (it gives her that satiny look)!
