Keem Chalva was brought to Oa with a number of other recruits to be evaluated by the Guardians of the Universe. As a rookie Green Lantern, Keem Chalva was assigned to a planet populated by two relatively peaceful species, the H'Zath and Lewiki. The world had lived in absolute peace since the days before recorded time. Keem Chalva's assignment was an easy one to say the least. He rarely used his power ring and when he did it was only for petty squables. One day he stopped a disturbed man from striking another. This wasn't normal behavior for the H'Zath or the Lewiki. Keem Chalva put himself between the two civilians and put up a shield to deflect the blow. However, being inexperienced in using his ring he overestimated his defensive shield. Both the attacker and his intended target were slammed into a wall resulting in their deaths. This earned Keem Chalva a long suspension. He went under training with Kilowog and eventually became a skilled weilder of his Green Lantern power ring. Eventually after finding out that the families of the two civilians he accidentally killed had forgiven him Keem Chalva was able to forgive himself. He now guards the same planet he did as a rookie Green Lantern.



Base Figure: DC Universe Classics Hal Jordan
Head: I used a Fantastic Four Human Torch head. Although I cannot recall what figure it actually came from. The head was not made for DC figures obviously. It had a much larger hole so I had to full that with sculpey. That's the first time I had to do that so I filled it enough to get the head to fit and feel good. Needless to say this figure won't get played with so it didn't have to be a perfect fit.
Painting: I painted his eyes green for of course a Green Lantern effect. I had trouble doing that though because i'm not a good painter when it comes to small areas. So afterwards I repainted his face. I matched the initial skin color pretty good but it was a bit brighter so I did a full repaint.
Construct: To be honest I do not know where the construct came from. Probably one I got in a trade or online.
Thoughts: This was a simple custom just done for fun while I wait on parts to arrive for future customs. But I think he turned out well and every new custom is a learning experience.
