two things first....

first, when i started customizing, last december, i gave myself what i thought was going to be an impossible goal. 100 customs posted to figure realm by my one year mark (12/17). apparently, somehow, i beat the mark by almost a month. heres post #100, id like to thank you all for the comments and motivation to keep me chugging along. the community here is the best ive found anywhere on the net.

second, this was a figure of odd experimentation and solutions to unforeseen accidents. i know, arent they all? but this one was a bit more for me. my first 2 attempts at a cape were made from gauze in two different thicknesses. both of which were too stiff to allow movement and didnt look anything like what i saw in my head. the third was a chunk of mesh fabric i found and i started by trying to fill in the holes in a web pattern, but it still didnt look finished. so i brushed on layer after layer of mod podge til it became a solid semi clear sheet with the mesh visible inside. then when the body was all painted i went to seal him and apparently the brush hadnt been cleaned well enough and had a swirl of silver paint in the sealer after it dried. i thought it looked ok on the blue, but not the red. luckily i had some clear red tamiya to redo the logo and i like how it set it apart with the glossy red. challenges, accidents or serendipity? i guess its the outcome that decides which.

hes made from a dcuc white lantern hal jordan, spidey 2099 head and a chunk of mesh fabric for a cape. sculpted chest, arm and mask details, sculpted cape into mid back and the back of the biceps, arm spikes were cut off an old spawn figure, glued on and sculpted in. then total repaint.

last pic shows him with my scarlet spider and spidey noir customs. eventually ill need to make a normal spidey to go with them.

Thanks for looking and all comments are greatly appreciated.

I must be honest, in that I don't particularly care for DC's figure base mold, but I admit, this is a turn-around for this base figure, and it looks really good! I will never use this base figure, but you surprised me with how good you made this look. Great job! I would like to see your take on this same SpiderMan 2099, but on a Marvel base figure (with good muscle tone). Again, I do really like this and I love the great job you did!

thanks loko, I don't think im gonna try for a numbered goal in year two, though I prolly still have another 100 figures already on my to do list. glad you like the cape, I use that matte brush on mod podge for a lot. skaar, angrir and ironclads skirts were all just fabric cut, glued on and then brush in layers of the stuff to shape and I seal everyone in it.

Congratulations on your 100th post, brother!
I love your customs, scarecr0w13, and this Spidey 2099 is no exception! I, too, love the glossy effect of the chest emblem.
