Today I bring you: SSJ2 GOKU!!

As far as I know, There has been only one release of a "Super Saiyan 2 Goku" which was actually a head swap for a Super Battle Collection Ultimate Goku figure, which had came with Goku as normal, SSJ, SSJ2 and SSJ3. But out of the super battle collection, there has not been a release of a Super Saiyan 2 Goku.

Since I have a ton of Different Goku figures, I decide to change up some of them into Super Saiyan 2 versions. On this site perhaps a year ago, is where I got my first Introduction of 'Apoxie Sculpt'. I thought the numerous customs on here that used this putty like material were some of the best custom figures Ive ever seen. I ordered some in the mail right afterwards and I immediately got to work on figures and accessories.

One of the projects Ive done and still do constantly, is change some of the hair bangs on the DBZ figures.(namely Goku or Vegito). The number of bangs on the SSJ Goku figures aren't accurate. Seeing various pics and vids for Goku(for years), the number of bangs vary but from what I can tell, I know 'SSJ Goku' has at max, 5 to 6 bangs. 'SSJ2 Goku' has 3 to 4.


Thats when I decided to make a SSJ2 version of Goku.

So, for this particular Goku, I completely cut off with a Xacto knife, all three bangs from the 'Irwin' Goku, which was simple enough.

I took some apoxie and sculpted 4 new bangs for Goku: 1 short, 2 medium length, and 1 long length bang.
Its kinda hard to make bangs for DBZ chars, its not as easy as you may think, either that or I am a serious amateur. lol

However, despite how difficult it was, I managed to complete it to my satisfaction for the most part. I still don't think its 'perfect' and I actually change up the bangs constantly and retry them all the time. The pics you see here were not my first set of bangs for this figure and probably wont be the last, lol

And since those S.H. figuarts have come on the scene, Ive gotten new inspiration for the bangs because those bangs are as accurate as you can get, imo.

Ive also repainted the hair color a 'mellow yellow'(sometimes in DBZ if you've noticed, their blonde hair goes from dirty and golden blonde to a seemingly platinum blonde when they are not powering up and are just, well...mellow, lol.
and I added a dot of white to the eyes.

So here he is: Super Saiyan 2 Goku!!
(and along with SSJ2 Goku is the Original Irwin 'SSJ1 Goku' for a CLOSE UP comparison)

I am going to be working on an accurate SSJ1 Goku as well.
