Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:45282
Name:Leonardo
Contest:Turtle Power!
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Creator:fastfreddie
Date Added:December 16, 2012
Base Figure:Playmates TMNT CLASSIC
Height:7.25 inches
I remember going and seeing the first TMNT movie when it came out and thought it was awesome. I liked the realistic look they had on the sliver screen and after seeing some of the recent cool interpretations of some even more realistic turtles like the way REBNOR did his, Pulpyfiction, G-Brand's and CUSTOMFIG's original takes and some of the other great repaints that have been produced I did some research and came up with a cool concept statue I saw and thought I would try and incorporate it into a figure.
Recipe:
The new 7" Playmates Leonardo TMNT figure
Lower legs was a WWE DELUXE AGGRESSION figure and the kneepads also
cut and spliced in the feet with some dow rods
removed the belt and sheaths harness and redid those with some craft leather/suede
resculpted over the whole figure and detailed the skin texture
sculpted him a little tail which wasn't on the factory figure
added some paint and he's ready for the sewers!
COWABUNGA DUDES! LET'S EAT SOME PIZZA AND THANKS FOR LOOKING!!

Hey Realmers! I was graced this past December with this AMAZING, LIFE-LIKE Turtle created by the MAGNIFICENT FASTFREDDIE! I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it, pictures don't do justice to Freddie's masterpieces. Seeing one of his customs in person is like seeing it in High Def!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, brother! Leonardo is one of the Crown Jewels in my collection.

Cho Keller - Now why you would want to ruin some good figures? Just used a generic WWE DELUXE AGGRESSION figure with some smooth legs, swapped out the lower legs with the turtle. I been thinking about YOUTUBE, but I don't know if that sorta thing's my bag, baby

Sinestro's Might - appreciate that, brother!

G Brand - Thanks G!

STANJOKER - thank you STAN, CONGRATS ON THE GOLD VICTORY!

suprasizeme - you give me too much credit, supra!

dreamcatcher - thank you dreamcatcher, glad you like it!

REBNOR - appreciate it!

SansPedes - I can't claim to be able to take any good photos. I'm lucky I can do what I can. Sometimes they come out decent and other times they don't Wednesday, December 19, 2012

customfig - appreciate it CUSTOMFIG! I forgot to mention your REBNOR inspired GOLD WINNING TURTLE! Great things, man!

Kevlar Palsh - I doubt I got it in me to want to make the others. This was just a spur of the moment thing

SirDigbyChickenCesear - Well, I don't believe I got enough...lol! Thanks Sir!

NeCrollector - Congrats on your trophy, NeCroll! It's hard to get a trophy here!

fitzjedi - I tried Fitz!

Armyghy - come on, you don't really think that do you??

mr. vader - appreicate it Vader!

Bushinryus40th - thank you Bush!

How exactly did you do the leg switch?

Cho, you heat and pop out the turtle and wrestler legs from groin. When you attach the wrestlers legs to the turtle you will need some putty or flexible glue to help keep the joints tight. Hot glue could also work. Fill it in hole where ball joint goes. I wouldn't use the hot glue unless you can work fast. E-6000 is a good flexible glue. Cut the wrestlers boots off @ the top of the boot and cut the turtle legs off at the shins. I drilled in holes and spliced them together using wooden dow rods and sculpted over. You may be able to just exchange the feet without all the cutting and splicing

This was an awesome entry FF, great selection on the parts but as always you paints are the star of the shoe. It really gave this custom a real world feel much like the costumes that Jim Hensen created. You are a true master.

Great looking custom! I just wish the photos wer better lit so It was easier to make out fine detail. I always love seeing realistic takes on the TMNT's & their allies & rogues gellery especially when they're ispired by the old live action films. I too have fond memories of seeing the 1st live action TMNT movie in the theater. I remember how impressed I was at how grown up the movie felt. More so than the sequel and the disastrous and disappointing 3rd film to follow. It had a darker tone than the toys & cartoon, more intense fighting and even some swearing. So good on ye.
