So this was a real labor of love that took about five months of starts and stops, but Gambit here is why I wanted to start customizing in the first place. Always wanted the Gambit figure that was in my head and not one of the crappy ones Toybiz ever made. So first off I have to give credit where credit is due: loosecollector is one of the most talented customizers on the realm and this is his recipe all the way. Moon Knight body, Wonderman head, Fury coat and arms, Gambit hands and I used an old Grifter figures hair. All the rest was sculpted. Btw, the boots were a real b***h! They took me the longest. (I sculpted the boots shape first without the lines than after it was dried I drew the lines on so I could get them straight, THAN dremeled the lines in, than sculpted some more to get the lines to look neat and pretty. If anyone has an easier way of doing it please share!) Also I'd like to share a trick I learned when painting his face particularly his stubble. If you look closely you can almost make out a grainy look to it. I used a tooth pick after letting the top coat of paint dry for a minute or two than lightly picked at it to pull it up to reveal the lighter base coat underneath. Enjoy! ![]() |
