Catch a Skaaaaag!

The Skag is a cave dwelling, weapon eating, acid spitting, face lunging little nightmare from the Borderlands series. They can usually be found in packs with varying breeds of skag to make your day a little less sunny. The leader and toughest of these packs is the Alpha Skag, a well armored powerhouse of a creature that can make short work of a less than cautious vault hunter. This particular skag is modeled in a threatening position, just before being shot square in the mouth by Mordecai with a high powered Jakobs brand sniper rifle... Because if it took more than one shot, it isn't a Jakobs.

This piece also features a "skag pile": a regurgitated pile of bones and metal bits that the skag couldn't digest properly. Skag piles often yield useful loot such as cash, ammo, weapons, and sometimes even body parts! It can be seen that this pile contains a magazine for an assault rifle... looks like some lucky vault hunter is gonna get his hands dirty!

This custom was sculpted entirely from scratch (and love) using super sculpey, tin foil and a scrap block of cedar for the base. It stands around four inches with base included.

For me, sculpting is a delcate process that often leads to frustration, and music keeps me focused. I feel it only fair to acknowledge the bands that kept me from smashing my head against the wall in rage for this one:

I'm a lifelong fan of gaming and have played many an FPS with excellent potential for a contest like this, so thanks for the opportunity to enter. I wish I had time to do more, but as they say, "there ain't no rest for the wicked"...
