Alright, so i've recently been thinking a lot "WWWD?". In case thats inscrutable, it means "what would Warrack do?". I'm always impressed by his approach to customs. A figure he does is always more than just the figure. So when i came across an extra modern Loki, i thought that would be the perfect opportunity.

Started with making Modern Loki more classic. I'd say he turned out "classic-ish", since he's got more triangular scalemail, a less geometrically perfect shawl, and just more detail on his belt, boots, and gloves. Of course, all of that is just because i didn't want to grind it off, but... whatev. He's all modern Loki, except for his forearms, which are from Hawkman, and his shawl which is from Captain Cold. His ponytail is on a balljoint so that its removable for when you want him to sit down, but i took it out, then forgot to put it back in for any of the pictures. You'll all have to just imagine its there. Added thigh swivels, though they didn't turn out as cleanly as the ones i did on my Modern Loki last year. Apparently, i'm regressing.

I thought it'd be cool for him to have his son, the Fenris wolf, with him, so I picked up a Hobbit Warg, and just repainted him. In person it really looks like his eyes are glowing green, but the pics aren't picking up on that much.

Finally, his throne. I built it out of that blue insulation foam you can get at home improvement stores. Drew in all the detail, like the cracks and such. The carpet is made from craft ribbon, and the torchs are styrene with green stuff wrapped around them, Extremis hip discs, and hot glue covered marbles. I learned a lot from making this one, and if i ever did something like it again, it'd probably come out a lot more clean.

WWWD? He'd say how awesome this is, and feel humbled that he could inspire this. Then he'd probably eat a family size bag of chips while watching The Golden Girls.

I really like this! One small nitpick, maybe the seat of the throne is a bit to low? I dunno, love it anyway!

Wednesday, February 6, 2013
No, you're right, it is pretty low. Stacking two pieces of the foam was the easiest way to do it, and thats just how it turned out. Laziness won out in the end.
