The follow up to my Mandroid custom! I had so much fun doing that one, I had to turn out another "Marvel Mech"! I was inspired by the Iron Man ending in the game "Marvel VS Capcom 3", in which he defeats Galactus, and essentially integrates his tech into his own. While I didn't care for what they showed of the design, I liked the idea. I decided I wasn't going to do a custom of that idea, but more of my own. My idea is that Tony somehow gets the gems of the Infinity Gauntlet and uses them to create his own cosmically powered armor to take the "Big G" down! I used an Iron Man Avengers Armor, and parts from a McFarlane Toys Spawn figure. Initially, I wasn't going to put the Galactus "forks"/antennae on his head, but I liked that aspect from the Marvel VS Capcom game, so I sculpted them on. I aslo sculpted the six Infinity Gauntlet gems onto his arms. I know they're a bit bigger than we're used to seeing, but I'm thinking if he had the gems, Tony could do just about anything he wanted...even making the gems bigger and grafting them into his armor;) The Iron Man figure's body is that of one of those Iron Man figures that came with Wolverine in those boxed Target exclusive Marvel Universe 2-pack from a few years back. I was originally going to make him in purple and gold, but I like the color scheme, and how it contrasts with the color of the Galactus Buster armor. It fits in the armor and has an interchangeable unhelmeted "Tony Stark" head! Please wait... |
