Hey! Next up is an all too familiar Web-head that has been around forever. I had some Spiderman parts I have been sitting on and decided to put them to good use. I debated on whether or not to make this "Superior" Spidey bs that's going on and said nah. The head is from a Ares series HOM Spidey, but don't quote me on that (there's so many lol). Body/ legs are from 1st app Spidey, arms/ hands/ feet McFarlane Spidey. Primered Black with Citadels Chaos, then painted with Testors with multiple layers and washes. I don't know how Jin Saotome got those black lines to pop so well and everything else. My approach was a white drybrush with some red over that then darker blue to lighter blue with a wash and then touch up the dark spots with lighter blue again. Thanks for checking it out and keep up the great work my fellow Realmers! I always see such inspiring work from so many people and it's awesome to be a part of it... God Bless you heroes! Please wait... |

BTW, that head is actually from the Ares BAF series Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider. Sadly there's never been a true HOM Spidey in 6" form...only 12" and MU 3.75". But you were close.
ToyBiz did make a weird looking "Battle Action Spider-man" (funky sculpt/articulation) that had some HOM costume similarities...and a really awesome McFarlane-esqe head. That BR:SS head is one of the closest I've ever seen to the typical Romita Jr. style. The Spider-man: Origins 6" figs all seem to borrow from his style as well, but the heads are a tad over-sized, and the sculpts have funky semi-fixed poses.
