I was thinking about Iron Man's armors and how each suit improved on the last. It's never complete and he keeps tinkering with the tech to make it better. It was only logical that as Bruce Wayne approached his older years, he would do the same.
It is not quite the suit that we know from Batman Beyond, but Bruce has taken significant steps to protect himself and amplify his strength to compensate for being a little slower, and a little weaker.
The first thing that I thought he'd do would be close off the lower face and give himself more protection. This would also allow for the suit's stealth tech to work better. The tech isnt quite there to include the built in mouth that Terry would get, and it makes him look a little more ninja like.
Next, I figured that after years of adventuring, Bruce is not going to giveup the cape so easily. After all, it cloaks him and works well as a weapon also. Eventually he'd decided to ditch it and build the glider wings under the armpits, but for now, the cape stays.
He has a new style partial high tech utility belt that includes his stealth, and other gadets. The batarangs arent quite as good as Terry's but are better than what he was carrying when he was in the costume from his younger days.
This is just step one on Batman's journey towards the Batman Beyond future. I'd like to think that there are countless speciality suits that are in his armory, just like Iron Man.
What is he made out of?
Hes a Batman Unlimited body with a head to tow repaint. I used Citadel primer to cover him, and then repainted the entire suit black. Some areas are glossy and some are flat. I wanted to show variety in how he'd piece it together.
Next I used a DMC head cast from the Knightshadow Batman, drilled out the head and attached it to the body. It got the same paint treatment.
Next I went through the fodder box and found a batarang that looked a little more techy than normal and painted it black and red.
The figure and the weapon were both sealed using Citadel sealant, and there should not be any paint rub issues with him.
