Someone had to do this one at some point.

Hasbro's version of the Mark 42 suit was too boring. There was no line work in all of the detail and every Iron Man should have a Stark head with it. With the Iron Man 3 Legends movie in the theater we decided to fix those mistakes and make the Iron Man that they should have.

What is he made out of? A brand new Iron Man Mark 42 that is hard to find on the shelves. A custom made and painted Tony Stark head. The head is styled with his Iron Man 3 beard and not the goatee from the first two films. We made the Tony Stark and helmeted heads interchangeable, just by pulling one off and replacing it with the other. No magnets, no boiling, no popping. Just easy.

And c'mon. We just made Tony Stark, who is the coolest guy in the world. He of course has sunglasses that are completely removable.

He was primed using Citadel primer, and painted using Citadel, Model Masters, and other paints. Some areas are glossy, some flat and some are metallic. He was then sealed so there would not be any paint rub issues.

The hand repulsors were painted to give an energy effect similar to the Arc Reactor in his chest. The boot repulsors were done also, even if they are on the bottom. There is a ton of deatil to the sculpt so repainting, dry brushing, washes, and a wipe paint techniques, done to make the line work pop. He's not pristine clean but he's not supposed to be. Tony goes through a lot in the movie as you can see in the trailers online or the film in the theater. So he's not brand new off the assembly line in his armor. He's wearing it after going through some battles.

Thanks. It was a pain to paint that head but I think it came out good. The armor is still growing on me. I want a silver centurion movie figure. May have to make one.

I saw it. Didn't like it as much. The visuals looked cool but hated the plot. Thanks for the comments about the figure.

Agree about the plot but the thing I didn't like was what they did with the mandarin! Again great custom!

A really nice repaint to the suit and a fantastic unmasked Tony head! Removable sunglasses are the icing on that cake. Very well done.
