Classic Spidey! YAY! Based on both John Romita SR. and Jr.'s artwork, he features a re-sculpted head with raised 'eyebrow' lens frames and a new neck from a movie Spidey to allow for greater articulation! All raised webbing was of course sanded off to match his comic style look. The lower arms and hands are also from a Movie Spidey (I felt they were more in keeping with the figure) and of course all the silver webs were once again removed. Completed with a new paint job. Street scene? The lamp post is made from 2 old pens with their innards removed with some old tubing from the bits box, placed at the top where it bends forward. An Arial wire connector was used for the lamp cover. The post box is made from cardboard and houses the winch for the 'web' to be reeled back into the box when not in use. Everything was then decorated with appropriate details. The base is cardboard with raised floor tile details. Underneath the base a hollowed out groove that allows the web to travel from the winch all the way through the body of the lamp post and out of the lamp. To finish off, the sandwich news board was made with thick cardboard with printed decals I designed in Photoshop. That's all folks! Things learned? Bases with mechanisms are cool... but hard to make! ![]() |
