My first attempt at custom painting a ninja turtle and my first posting on this site any advice or criticism is welcome . It's a nick ninja turtle painted with tamiya acrylic paints and given a dark wash to try to bring out the gritty look of the turtles . I have given it a clear coat to prevent chipping but this is something that I'm not to sure about anybody got any advice about this ?

Looks good. I am newish to customs as well and I would heed any advice given on here as these guys kno whuts up! The tmnt weapons can be a pain...but ill let you know a little secret. Go to auto zone and buy a can of adheasion premoter. Follow the instructions carefully. I did this and used testors acrilic and the paint stays on. Good luck and happy customing!

Hey man welcome to the club! Not bad for your first! Dark washing def takes a little practice, or did for me anyway. If you don't want your custom to look super wet and shiny you can go pick up a matte clear and it makes your painting and detsils look a lot cleaner! Also I'd recommend exploring other brands of paints, not that tamiya is bad at all but I've found that testors and citadel work best for me! Everybody has their own style and preference! Just a thought! And definitely explore the tutorials on here, you can learn sooo much from all the guys who took the time to write them! Awesome work again man! See you around

Looks good to me. Did you do a dry brush over the black wash? I can see the wash in his arm bands and such but not in the muscle definition.
