Eternity (Marvel) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:51289
Name:Eternity
Contest:Spaced Out
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel
Creator:fastfreddie
Date Added:June 30, 2013
Base Figure:18" Toybiz movie Spider-Man
Height:26.00 inches
Articulation:67 points
I had been working on this for a while(since late 2010). I will update this after the contest to tell some more about it without giving anything away here.

It was made out the massive 67 points of articulation Toybiz movie Spider-Man.
A lot of dremeling and sanding to smooth off the surface lines at first, then after 2 years I had an inspirational moment of a textured space surface. So, I applied some putty over most of the body and textured it. The shroud was cut from hard plastic and covered in aluminum foil to give it a texture along with some textured putty also. The cape was made from a plastic table cloth. I resculpted the head with apoxie and then some super sculpey. I drilled some holes and inserted a few marbles at random to be used for planets. Some of the smaller circles are some round craft gems. The little Earth I found on top of a small toy container and repainted it.
The height at the top of the shroud is 26"
Dr. Strange used for size comparison. He's had an encounter or two with Eternity.
I don't know if Eternity is the MU version of God, but if he is then...

Psalms 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.

THE FINAL FRONTIER

The times are changin' for you and I
We seek our future in the sky
On metal wings our race will fly
To conquer space and time

We'll face our destiny
On The Final Frontier
Beyond this galaxy
Out on The Final Frontier
On The Final Frontier
It was meant to be
Out on The Final Frontier

We've watched the stars since time began
Gone to the moon and back again
And somewhere out there lies the fate of man
To distant worlds we extend out hands

To The Final Frontier
We'll face our destiny
Out on The Final Frontier
We're the next pioneers
On strange new worlds
Of The Final Frontier

Sailing past the speed of light
Throughout the vast eternal night
Beyond the farthest star
We're taking flight

WOW, what can I say that already hasn't been said??
As soon as I saw the pic, I knew it had your fingerprints all over it. Sure, a little more "black space" could be added, but it is amazing nonetheless! Excellent laboring, my friend...

My friends, I want to thank each and everyone of you for the comments and critiques(Patraw aka Carl Sagan). But, since there is one person who dislikes the paint scheme of this custom I think I will repaint it and see what I can come up with. I will see you all again when it is finished with updated photos and go from there... until then may God richly bless you(J.H.)!!

Wow! Just tackling that massive Spiderman fodder with all the textures is in itself an awe inspiring feat. What a great job in smoothing him out. The paint apps...just too cool!! Looks like you either had a lot of fun painting him or you were pulling your hair out with that daunting task, but whichever it was it turned out phenomenal. Very unique looking piece.

It's certainly an impressive paint job, and I can appreciate all the time it must have taken, but I think that you went overboard with all the colors and didn't include nearly enough of the large swaths of black, starlit space that the character's body is typically depicted with (space is, after all, mostly that, empty space). Instead of a realistic map of the cosmos, your paintjob looks more like a psychadelic rainbow explosion to me. Sometimes less is more.

I can vouch for this paintjob, the person that wanted this custom requested it to be very bright and vivid instead of the dark starlit space that you speak of Actually though, your comment has inspired Freddie to take a poll to see how many people on the WGC thinks he should repaint this Eternity. We will let you know how that turns out.
