Since Patraw posed the question and Green Skin answered = “Patraw - Wednesday, June 19, 2013 [Reply, Edit, Report Abuse] May I assume that spacecraft, satellites, space stations/orbital platforms, heavenly bodies (planets, stars, comets, meteors, etc.), and similar space-themed vehicles/objects, would be acceptable subject matter for entries, in addition to more traditional figures? Green Skin - Thursday, June 20, 2013 [Edit, Report Abuse] Correct.” I thought ‘hey the Starship Enterprise is A spacecraft and what is more important than the brain of the Starship is its bridge. This was a labor of love requested by my five year old, as he wanted his own 'ship'. This was inspired by the layout of the new Movie Bridge with hints of the Bridges from Enterprise-A and C but in the style of TOS. This took forever; at least it felt like it. I used foam core board lots of measuring cutting and gluing. Started with the Art Asylum captain Kirk’s chair then printed off Jeffries blueprints scaled to just a little smaller than authentic scale of Art Asylum figures. The doors on both sides of the bridge open and close per request from my Little Man. The doors he actually painted red. Literal hours of exaco-knife cutting then hot gluing, then a few more hours to search the internet for decals to make the computer screens. Spock’s monitors depict a black hole and an image of the higgs boson particle. From the open door the computer stations are Science, Astrogation, Communication, Engineering I, Engineering II. The two front stations are Security and tactical. The final touches were the railing painted red to match TOS color scheme. The last picture show what is looks like manned, none of those are customs except the TOS Malcom Reed. ![]() |
