Here's one of the dastardly and very imbalanced rogues who wander Gotham's streets: Arnold Wesker aka the Ventriloquist and his twisted split persona, the Scarface puppet. There doesn't seem to be an official 6 or 7 inch scaled action figure of The Ventriloquist from either Mattel or DC Collectibles, so I wanted to make my own. When I saw the Louis Tully figure from Mattel's Ghostbusters Movie Masters line loose, I thought he would be an ideal base figure for Wesker, but I didn't know how to go about making the dummy. Thankfully, I came across the Arkham Asylum Joker figure - which famously comes with the Scarface dummy - and got to work.
First, I sanded the figure's head completely bald, with a dremel and different grades of sandpaper. This part wasn't particularly easy so I wanted to get it out of the way first. I then sculpted back some hair and eyebrows, and repainted the figure. I wanted him to look drab, so it was brown, green and tan. The unkempt look seems to fit with how I view Wesker; he doesn't seem like a guy who'd be very concerned with his appearance. For the Scarface dummy, I decided to repaint him blue since most versions do depict the puppet in a blue jacket or shirt. The revolver is from an Indiana Jones figure.

And the ventriloquist is funny!
