Simple custom, difficult paint job. When I first laid eyes upon the new MU Cap I was so disappointed. The figure looked great but he didn't have chain mail! So I was on a mission to remedy that. I took the old light-up base Cap and the new Cap, swapped out some parts, total repaint and presto-chango - the Classic Captain America I've always wanted! Recipe is as follows: Head, neck, lower arms, and legs - New Cap Torso, crotch, upper arms - Old Cap The only real modification I made was chopped off the old Cap's neck and attached the new Cap's with the added hinge articulation. A little sculpt to fill in the gaps so it looks like it never happened! The paint was a whole other challenge. I wanted everything to have highs and lows so I dry brushed each area individually, including his mid section stripes. Also, this was my first time doing flesh tones and eyes (soooo tiny) and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Comments and questions are welcome! ![]() |
