I liked that the Spider-man line was a staging area for trying out new articulation. The first time we saw a swivel ab crunch was on the Spider-sense Spider-man. And that was a good Spidey but could use some work. So I carved out the hands from the old 5-inch Web Attach Spidey so they could be attached to the wrist joint of the 1st Spidey Classics Spidey, took those hands and head and transplanted them to the new Spider-sense body. I liked those hands a lot, and could still swap them with Spidey Classics web-shooter hands, but the neck was tough. The Spider-sense Spidey had this action feature where you plug him into a base and his clear eyes light up. All that had to be removed and the neck from the Spidey Classics Spidey inserted with a metal screw to retain the spin and the ball joint neck. And I actually used a redeco of the Spidey Classic called Magnetic Spider-man for the feet with the magnets in them -(you can see them in the pic with Cap). Also Spider-sense was originally red and black, so all the black parts had to be painted blue.
I really like how this mold has been getting a lot of love lately as a really nice basic Spidey. I just wanted it a little shorter - the new feet did that - and with better hands and head, which I always thought went a long way in determining the personality of a toy.
