2002 The Rhino that came in series 2 of the Spidey Classics was a really cool toy, but with very limited articulation. I thought I could fix that up and when all those movie Hulk toys were on the shelves at KB for the Ang Lee film, I saw my opportunity with the Twist and Slam Hulk. Head, chest, hips, toes, right hand - Spidey Classics Rhino Arms, legs, left fist - Twist and Slam movie Hulk The hips of the Rhino were good so I kept them down to the swivel on the thigh, but the rest was Hulk, which was tough because the Rhino is hollow. The Hulks arms were basically easy to fit into the Rhino chest, and the toes were attached to the Hulk's feet. Then I had to sculpt over everything and match the texture that the Rhino had. On the arms I did a lot of that by just carving into the Hulks arms. I added swivel wrists again and wanted one hand from each toy. I sculpted the armbands and leg bands, and oddly enough the original armbands are under there - I thought I could keep them but they ended up being too small. A pretty fun bit of painting and he was ready. It ended up being a good size for me. The Rhino has been drawn lots of sizes but I wanted to keep him pretty old school and not very tall, but definitely bigger than most regular sized people. At the time my Spidey villains were very few and I was waiting for the SMC Scorpion to come out, but this guy has never left my collection or been replaced. ![]() |
