So I love repainting my Star Wars vehicles to look more realistic, and I think this may be my favorite one. This is the "not so great" release they put out before the Vintage Collection, and the paint job was pretty non existent.
First thing i did was a light coating of grey. I wanted some of the original paint to shine through to give the effect of an "old ship". then I went through with a black and dark grey and detailed all of the wear&tear. After that I painted all of the little nooks and crannies a gunmetal and gently wiped to show off the detail, and then touched up little wires and nobs with a metallic silver. Last thing was some browns on the underbelly and landing gear, and there you have it- a much more realistic and movie accurate paint job.
