Got the idea to make the General Zod custom while working on this base figure. Zod got posted up first due to waiting on the samurai swords coming by row boat mail from China. It's the same GOW Theron, but added ML Omega Red legs and most of the Shogun armor either came from a McF Dojo or Jyaaku. Sculpted the human portion of the face over top of the Theron head, keeping the lower jaws as his face mask. The rising sun was tricky to sculpt into a perfect circle (especially over uneven surface, forgetaboutit), so went rummaging thru grandma's button fodder and found a suitably sized circle. Sculpted the beams around it and once all the armor was firmly sculpted into place, gave it a full chrome repaint. Added a pair of side loops for the swords, repainted the hilts white to better match the armor. The idea behind the silver armor represents purity, just as the element, and grants the bearer justification, albeit duty to slaughter those in its wake. Unlike ninjas, Silver Samurai doesn't require stealth or camouflage, as his armor withstands every hostility. And as his kills are righteous, his stance is rectified by mythical beasts - represented by the head of an elephant on one knee and bear on the other. Not to mention, pure silver would be a formidable armor to the individual that could wield it. Impenetrable, mercurial, and even rust proof! The down side is it would weigh a ton and the samurai would slowly die of blood poisoning, so you'd sorta have to be supernatural to wear it. Would make a cool Hallowe'en costume though Thanks for having a look. Please wait... |
