This started as a simple graft of wings from medium size medieval armored blue dragon unto a DCU Blue Devil figure , a basic cut and paste , right? , boy I couldn't be more wrong . THEY WOULD NOT GLUE ON !!, there was some sort of chemical reaction between the glue, the figures paint and the wings material (a waxy oily kind of plastic) , I tried sanding and removing some of the paint of the figure , didn't work , then I tried some more sculping on the wings , and still nothing , I was frustrated and was for the first time about to give up! . Two hours later I went for it again with a new approach , thinking on the character's origin (a stuntman cursed by a demon to be magically stuck on his own created devil suit), why not make it seem as a FX prop that he would have made as an evolution of the suit , so I cut and match the wings and glue them together (and waited many hours until they bonded well) , meanwhile I took the figures horns of and exchange them for more detailed ones . Next morning , I put the now long wing piece and strapped on the figure using transparent wire like a harness and (THANK GOD!!) it worked and it looked GREAT! , so here he is , may look simple , but it definitively NOT!! , Enjoy and Thanks!

Yeah, gotta agree with the other guys, a good wash on your figures go a long way.
Those are a nice set of wings man, if you wanted you could also put in a good set of balljoints and it will hold better, and plus they will be articulated

Thank you , my friend for all the great suggestions and the help , as irony would have they were originally ball jointed , but they were huge , so I had to cut them , however you are right , I will definitively do that next time , THANKS !!

Yeah, having worked on cars for almost 30 years, and dealing with every kind of plastic used in manufacturing, I know the frustration you felt all too well. Sometimes the only solution is to do a bake-wash-bake-wash procedure, to sweat out all of the release agents Truwe 316 talked about. It's a process that was absolutely necessary for prepping brand new plastic parts for painting, if they came raw, with no factory primer/sealer already applied, or even to do a repair on an existing part. But sometimes you'd get a part that hadn't been fully cured/treated prior to having the factory primer applied, and you'd end up with a mess, much like you've described. I've had to send parts back before, because it was going to be too labor intensive and costly to correct.

The trick of course is finding the optimum temperature to do the bake with, so you can properly sweat out the mold release agents, while not melting/distorting the figure. But that's what fodder is for, eh?

Glad it worked out for you. Your chemical reaction might have been from the mold release on the parts used. Washing the figures with warm water and soap might help.
