A lot of figures, a lot of paint. I actually made this Hindu goddess for my wife and finished it just in time for this contest. This is the goddess Kali depicted standing over the god Shiva. and a reference picture.
It "figures" that a lot of figures went into her creation after she's the goddess of death and destruction , a very innovative and good idea and execution , Good Job!!
Very cool rendition of Kali, I like that you took the time to get all the gruesome details of her costume right (necklace of severed heads, belt of severed arms, etc.) Unless you did some casting, I can only imagine how many toys had to die for you to get all those pieces.
The decapitated head in her hand is obviously from a female doll (something like a Barbie Chelsea/Kelly would be my guess) with drawn on facial hair, which, while amusing, doesn't really jive with the detail/style of the Kali figure herself--I think a more realistic head would have been a better choice.
I know the myth, so, I understand and appreciate the significance of the photo of Kali dancing upon her consort Shiva's body, but I imagine many Figure Realm readers don't, so I think you should have expanded upon that in your description.
