I was inspired by NeCrollector's Starbucks Siren. If you haven't seen it check it out. I've always wanted to make a mermaid figure but never knew exactly how to go about it, it was also very important to me to have her pose able.

I used a Motuc Jewelstar for the base figure and Motuc Tallstar for her head. I started with gluing her legs together so they wouldn't move during the sculpting process of the scales. That took forever. I extended her abdominal area cause I felt like she looked to compact. I used a Mcfarlanes Dragon for her fins and a joint from a Transformer toy. The base she's "swimming" above is also from the Water dragon from Mcfarlane. I gave her a trident cause I think it would be cool to see her as a warrior, and used the crystals on her forearms as bracers.

Hope you all enjoy I'm proud of her and my next custom is the Sea Witch Ursula, that I just started working on.

P.S. If you aren't super far along with Ursula and are still at the point of shopping for parts, a head that is in this scale that I think could be awesome for it would be a "Silent Screamers: Dr. Caligari" head. I'll send you a link to an image of it in an IM.

WOW, Marcx89! Ariel turned out GORGEOUS!!! I'm truly honored to have inspired this masterpiece, brother!
The whole bottom half turned out beautiful! I particularly love the slight reveal on the back side...very nice! The use of Tallstar's head makes for a perfect Ariel....genius!

Outstanding Ariel! The work on the fishtail is particularly impressive, and McFarlane's Water Dragon 3 base was an excellent choice for a marine-themed support. The only thing I don't care for are the bracers on her arms, as she never wore anything like that in any of the films/cartoons to my recollection, nor do they strike me as something she would wear. I could see her wielding her father's trident though, so that makes sense as an accessory.
