What if... Steve Rogers was augmented for WW2 by Dr. Erskine's spider based super soldier serum? Or what if Peter Parker thought his great power should be used responsibly in service of his country, as Uncle Ben had done? Either way, this figure started as Star, and after the concept came to life on paper, I gave much of his upper body a new paint job. I carved his eyes a bit at first, but then I used fix-it putty to build them back up and make them more Spidey like. The web shield came from another Spider-Man figure and was given a grey wash to improve its look. Not sure where the red shield came from. He was fun to make, except for the chest logo. It was a heck of a lot easier to make a beautiful white star that had been spider-ized on paper than it was to paint it on an uneven surface. The torso articulation is in a spot that made what I had on the page nearly impossible to translate onto the figure. But, eh, work and learn, right?
I feel you did a really nice job integrating Spidey's and Cap's outfits, and I like that you went to the trouble of making two different shields as well. The eyes bulge out too far for my tastes, but that's the only aspect I don't care for. I think your idea of Peter Parker deciding that great responsibility would mean serving in the military is an excellent story concept and would make for an interesting What if? comic or one-shot (I'd even go so far as to encourage you to type it up and submit a proposal to Marvel, ya never know they might like it).
