Spidey and the Lizard were on discount for 3.99 each, so I bought these two figures with the idea of doing a sewer battle that would be similar to the movie. The scale for the Lizard is way off, but wanted to use at least one of the figures or both separately. The idea was to go low budget with a bit of realism while doing something unique. Honestly, this took longer than it should have because I didn't use good source material originally. I just went by the movie from a few months ago. While doing the project, I looked at pictures on the net that actually confused me more thinking I messed up. I realized that it was a dome after seeing the set build! This is why I saw the tunnels differently. The main materials were paper based. Yes, just large construction, and sand paper that were both cheap. I doubled the construction paper with glue. The sandpaper came as squares that I conveniently glued on. After it dried, I added a little texture, primed it lightly and weathered with water color. The tunnels are PVC pipe connectors. The water is a combination of paints, spay and enamels mostly. I tried to make a whirlpool effect by sinking the base about a half of inch and using a little paint technique. Of course, I could have used another method, but wanted to see what the enamels would look like. The webs are what ties this thing together, not literally. It is just string that I put threw the paper walls with pre made holes using nails. The strings are secured with "Krazy Glue". ![]() |
