Hey guys, today (8th Feb) marks what would have been the 100th birthday of the under appreciated co-creator of Batman along with some of the most notable DC characters ever, Bill Finger. If you have no idea who Bill Finger was, please google him. I'd also be happy to send you a link to an interesting article on him, as well. This figure, was done in a day to try and bring a bit of recognition to Fingers contribution to Batman by presenting Batman as in Bob Kanes' original sketch. It was Finger who suggested the cape, cowl and the colours. The figure is just a basic paint job with some (admittedly petty bad) wings made of a couple of layers of paper (I couldn't find a toy bat to use anywhere... wrong holiday, I guess). I'll probably give him another pain job, and get some decent wings down the road, but I really wanted to get him up today. Don't be too harsh. ![]() |

I honestly think that without Bill's contributions to Batman, we'd be in a whole different comic, action figure and even pop culture landscape today. And one of the truly sad things about Bill Finger I that DC signed a contract with Bob Kane prior to DC finding out about Finger that means they legally can't acknowledge him as Batmans co-creator.
