Atten-hut...

Sgt. Rock has always been one of those figures I thought Mattel would make but never did. So I finally decided to make my own.

Sarge was made using:

DCUC Jack Knight Starman lower legs and shoulders
DCUC generic torso and upper arms (I used camo Aquaman)
DCUC Hawkman lower arms (for those nice popping veins)
DCUC Hourman necklace sanded into a flat dog tag
Hasbro ML Punisher head
ML 2-pack Ultimate Captain America belt, helmet, and weapons
Neca Rambo bandoliers {"Nothing is over!") Looked forever to try and find bandoliers that looked right. Checked eBay, amazon, various websites, peoples fodder listes. Originally was going to use the ammo DCUC Jonah Hex came with but I wanted something that looked more appropriate. These were just exactly what I'd imagined for Sarge.

The rest was just sculpting on the chest and sleeves and painting. I wasn't happy with the dark green paint I originally had, so I picked up a bottle of Model Masters olive drab which I think helps bring the perfect look for Sarge. Don't even want to think about the amount of time, trial-and-error approaches I took to make those stripes look just right. They aren't perfect, but I'm very happy with how they look. Not sure where he fits in my collection, but he certainly belongs.
