So this is a little project I’ve been working on recently and thought I’d take some pics with updates later (hopefully by next week I’ll have my materials to make a casting).

I’ve searched hours online looking for a really good, highly articulated, (preferably) 6” action figure. There are some here and there; the ideal ones typically come in sizes 12” and above. I really enjoy certain aspects of Marvel figures as well as DCUC. So after getting tired of my endless searching, I decided to just put one together myself because I do have some duplicate figures I don’t mind butchering. I used a White Lantern Flash (resin cast?) I got off eBay a while back, same as the Batman Beyond; came from Hong Kong, unpainted so I’m assuming it itself is some sort of cast. I also bought a few Constrictors from Target for like $8 a pop.

Here we have what will currently be known as Male Base 1 (after surgery).
I took all the parts I liked:
Arms, neck joint, knees, and partial shin from Constrictor
Boots and feet from White Lantern Flash
Torso and lower body-thigh from Batman Beyond
Head was a cast I had from a ML Black Panther with ears shaved off

Currently at 30 points of articulation (if I’m doing that right)
The goal is I believe 54 when I’m fully done
Future Updates Include:
Articulated wrists/fingers
Articulation added to toes
Resin figure result with updated pics

Thanks for looking, stay tuned…

Looks good, but why switch out the torso? Constrictor has a superior ab crunch to the dc figures.

Ya know I hadn't really done my research well enough Good thing about puttin it out here was that I got some good feedback and did some more searching. I found a much better combo in mind with a MS Cap and DS wolverine. Once they arrive I'll be postin all the new updates

Not a fan of the DC legs (gap at the crotch when posing legs, no rocker ankles), but the rest looks pretty awesome.

Ya I know what you mean about the gap. Maybe after some sanding it will look more human than robot on the lower torso. What kind of lower torso/upper thigh combo do you think would be good?

After agreeing with you, I actually did some more searching and found something I think will work much better:
ML Captain Amerca Bucky Heroic Age Version lower torso! I ordered one and plan to swap.

I like the new ML boot/ankle swivel joints...one of only a couple nice innovations Hasbro has developed over the years (the other being the newer double pivot shoulder joint, which you've used). Hasbro's problem is there's no consistency. Why they didn't use the same upper torso on the new TASM2 figure, as they did with the Superior Spidey figure, is beyond me. That chest and shoulder design for the new movie Spidey is hideous, and completely ruins the figure....yet the boots are a hinged toe away from being the ultimate Spidey boots (which, BTW, swap beautifully with the Super Strength Spidey legs, which in turn look great with the SMC-12 McFarlane body).

The boot/ankle was a difficult choice; I think in the end I will probably add the new ML swivel joint before casting. It shouldn’t be so difficult to have a base figure with proper articulation, I mean you get it right once then you need no redesigns other than superficial details. I’m gonna look into that Spidey you’re talking about, sounds like a fun custom to make.

It's really just a matter of boil-n-pop swapping the boots, as they have nearly identical upper calf shape and pegs/holes. The legs just require some drilling and reaming on the upper thigh peg holes. You could also swap out the joints instead, but that of course requires cracking open the McFarlane Spidey's groin...which I really hate to do. I own almost 30 of them, but I still don't like the idea of potentially breaking that hard plastic shell on a figure I paid $50-85 for.

I just bought a good camera the other day, because I wanted to post some pics of some of my Franken-Spideys, including my recent McFarlane/ML Infinite Spidey hybrid. I'm not really a customizer, as I haven't done any sculpting before, so I've never bothered posting anything before. But I've recently come up with new combos that I've never seen before anywhere, and I think they look pretty cool.

That Spidey Hybrid sounds awesome; I’d love to see it sometime. I haven’t been customizing for too long, really just started. A lot of trial and error on techniques to hone the skill but I definitely wouldn’t recommend testing on your McFarlane Spideys lol.
