Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to present the ultimate test of skill and endurance, the 1994 Royal Rumble. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBBBBLLLLLLLE!!!!!! My brother is obsessed with 80's and early 90's wrestling. So when he turned 30 I thought, "what can I make him that has 30 in it?" For some strange reason the deep recesses of my brain instantly echoed back "the 1994 royal rumble". Thirty wrestlers, one champion... except that looking into it '94 had 29 wrestlers and two champions. I've never been a huge wrestling fan myself, but the '94 royal rumble I remembered. The casket match between Yokozuna and Undertaker was classic, Diesel seemed invincible, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty had a grudge showdown, and both Bret Hart and Lex Luger tied for the win. I had the idea to make the wrestlers like those little figures you get in plastic bubbles from gumball machines. I thought "30 wrestlers, small, cartoony, easy. I'll do five figures a night for six nights, easy." Three weeks later they were done. They are all made from scratch from super sculpey and are on average about two inches tall, give or take. They are all accurate to how they appeared at the Rumble, and in signature poses where possible. I made them in the order they entered the rumble, and they are: 1. Scott Steiner 2. "Headshrinker" Samu 3. Rick Steiner 4. Kwang 5. Owen Hart 6. "Smokin Gunns" Bart Gunn 7. Diesel 8. Bob Backlund 9. Billy Gunn 10. Virgil 11. "Macho Man" Randy Savage 12. "Double J" Jeff Jarrett 13. Crush 14. Doink the Clown 15. Bam Bam Bigelow 16. "Men on a Mission" Mabel 17. Sparky Plugg 18. Shawn Michaels 19. "Men on a Mission" Mo 20. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine 21. Tatanka 22. The Great Kabuki 23. Lex Luger 24. Genichiro Tenryu 25. "The Model" Rick Martel 26. Bret "the Hitman" Hart 27. "Headshrinker" Fatu 28. Marty Jannetty 29. Adam Bomb * There are only 29 because spot 25 was supposed to be Bastion Booger, but he was a no show. I made a figure to fill this spot that was modeled after my brother, but he's not a real wrestler so I left him out of the set. I'm quite proud of this set, and I found the process of making them very interesting and rewarding as my technique evolved with each one I made. Happy grappling! ![]() |

Would've taken much longer (probably), but a more realistically detailed set would be AMAZING! Great labor of love, though!
I know well the sensation of telling yourself, "This will only take "x" number of days to sculpt" and then finding out how very, very wrong you are.
