Hey guys!

Long time no post huh? Well, I'm back with a new animated pirate! Capt. Hector Barbossa!!! He was made from the animated Barbossa, with dry-brushing for a more "dirty" look, as are the rest of my pirates.

The base is made from Oasis Styro-Foam, cut into chunks, and attached to paint brush sticks for sturdiness. I used lots of fake vines and real sand for an "ancient" look. Jack the monkey was an accessory that came with the figure, and, despite his nudity, looked pretty cool. So I dry-brushed him, and attached him to the archway by use of fake vines.

This one took a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time, so comments would be appreciated!

UPDATE 2/3/08

I didn't like how Barbossa looked with his first base, so I made him a new one.It depicts him in his treasure grotto on Isla de Muerta. I made by cutting a shape out of cardboard, and covering it with spackle to look like water. Then I placed blocks of styro-foam in the spackle for rocks. I scraped some extra spackle up against the big rock to simulate a small wave hitting it. Once I had painted it, I sprayed the base with spray glue, and sprinkled gold glitter for the pieces of gold/treasure.

I also re-painted his eyes, and added a flintlock from Will Turner. (Come on. When did you ever see Will use a gun?) I think he looks MUCH better on this base than the old one. (which will be given to Will instead.) I've added a group shot of the series below.
