My original plan for Ronan was to create a hybrid between his classic and Annihilators look. But the more I studied his classic version the more I fell in love. But I also promised my customer I'd make him one of my pose-able capes. As a solution, I decided to make swap-able gear so the owner can change his look whenever he pleases! His recipe is as follows:

Head, Body, Legs, Upper Arms: MU Colossus
Forearms: MU Hercules

All details were sculpted and/or carved and accessories were sculpted and scratch made using ProCreate and a sheet of vinyl. Both hoods are flexible and removable and designed to fit snugly on his shoulders. The cloth cape is fully pose-able and as always his shoulder pads were attached to the upper hood so his arms still have a decent range of motion. His "skirt" was made out of a vinyl sheet with details added in. I wanted to it remain flexible so he could still move his legs as much as possible. Even with limited leg movement I gave him rocker ankles for added stability. His hammer was also sculpted from scratch (there is a Mjolnir in there as a base). He was finished off with pearl greens, clear greens and silvers.

Thanks for looking and questions and comments are welcome!

I would say that the versatility of his alternate design put this piece over the top but it was already exceptional to begin with. This would be too good to ever hope for as a production piece. Really this isn't just perfect its phenomenal.

Great job! How did you go about making the colossus lower legs into rocker ankles?

I carefully carve out the ankle along with the disc joint from the existing foot. Then I flip it upside down, pin it into the lower leg and drill a hole in the foot for the now downward facing peg. I then sculpt over everything to fill in the gaps and blend the parts together. I got the idea from Noodlechow. He has a great little sketch tutorials on how to make all kinds of awesome joints.

Glad to see that idea works. See Noodlechow's tutorial shows you a bit of a different way of doing it via sacrificing another ankle rocker joint and gluing it within a hollowed out hole. However what you did was what I though of doing myself so as to not have to sacrifice any other piece and use what you got. Here's the dilemma though that I came across: What did you use for a peg to go through the drilled hole that now holds the upside down o-ring? I thought of using a small metal hobby screw.

I use whatever fits really. Small nails or wire or if the ankle is too small, like the ones I made for Jubliee, I just super glue it in place being careful not to fuse the disc joint. I use two pins, one on either side of the disc joint so you have to drill new holes in the lower leg.

2 Pins? Now that's interesting. That would reinforce the strength of the material used for a peg to go through the loop. Next time you make one mind just taking a pic and sending it to me there friend? Like you and Noodlechow I'm all about articulation as well. I'd love to see your technique. I'll message ya if that's cool
