The first time I had ever heard of Ma Hunkle was the crossover that featured the Red Tornado. Dr Fate explained that he was not the first Red Tornado, that Ma Hunkle was the first, and it showed an image. I thought she was a robot. Fast forward a decade or so of comics and I learned more about the intrepid mother who donned a costume and saucepan to protect her neighborhood. My mother-in-law picked up a copy of the Smithsonian's reprints of Golden Age comics for me at a garage sale. Included in the compilation were several stories from the Scribbly strip, featuring the Red Tornado. She did make an appearance in All-Star comics #3, crashing the first meeting of the JSA.

I used Aves apoxie sculpt for the saucepan, gloves and boots. I tried to add texture to her long johns by rolling the end of my exacto knife over portions of her costume.

My son once again pitched in and made the Cyclone kids out of April O'Niel.
