Lutey is a fisherman by trade on the wild, rocky Southern coast. Strong and weather beaten, he supplements his fishing income by selling and trading what he finds beach combing. The best time to beach comb is after a storm, many curiosities and treasures are washed ashore. His favourite spot is a quiet and secluded cove with a small wooden jetty and plenty of tide pools. One particular day after a severe storm, Lutey hears a beautiful and haunting song coming from the rocky waters of the cove. He longs to catch whatever creature it is that sings such sweet song.

Lutey is based on a character from one of my favourite Cornish legends, he is made from a Daniel Bryan figure, with sculpted trousers and nipples. His belt of hooks, trinket pouch and his "fish knife" come from a pirates of the caribbean 3.45" Gunner Zombie figure, cut and re-glued together and attached round his waist. A "fish hook" made from a bent hook earring is also attached. He is painted in acrylics.

The cove diorama is a shelf on my bookcase. I stuck netting to the top and walls to break up the black, create depth and shape and because I liked the look of it (it also saves me from making "rock" walls etc). The "sea" I made from a sheet of blue card and layers of clingfilm. The jetty I made from an old candle tray thing, some scrap bits of wood, glued together and green stuff added to sculpt barnacles and seaweed in places. The rocks and ships wheel are various aquarium decorations which have been partially repainted and enhanced by me. Other props and accessories from other play sets added to create a nautical feel. I also put a battery press light on the top under the netting, to create the effect of moon light.
