This project came about as I was searching for an idea to use the Zangief body on. Not usually the way I work, i usually have an idea and then acquire the figures or check the fodder. I really wanted to use this base though. So I asked a few FB friends and this was the best of the suggestions I got, I liked the idea of it being outside of my usual style and liked the opportunity of leaving my comfort zone. That's exactly what happened, the base figure is so full of faults, it really took a lot of work to just rebuild and tighten all the joints. That's where most of the work was.

Other than that, a complete headsculpt, sculpt on the hands, wrists, ankles and feet. A pair of earphones and a whole load of sanding to get rid of the scars. He was painted up with citadel paints and sealed with Vallejo satin.

After this project, i would advise anyone against using Zangief, he's an absolute horror to work with but worth it in the end I reckon.

Till next time.....................

That is one difficult base to use because of the loose joint and poor quality of the material..you did a great job restoring the base and capturing Nappa in his moment when he was beating up the Z Fighters one by one...I always felt Prince Vegeta should have not killed him.

Tell me about it He's loose to begin with start grinding away and he's even looser and as for those pins they used in the joints, pretty much useless!! I don't know much about DBZ to be honest, I actually just found out I've given him a belt where he should have a tail In the process of fixing it now.
