I got this headless Bleach ‘Renji’ figure in a fodder box a ways back and have had it sitting around for a while. I wasn’t sure what to do with it, because I couldn’t think of too many characters that fit the style until I saw Darth Thomas’s Afro Samurai ‘Kuma’ figure and thought it would be perfect for a similar figure. As mentioned, the base body was a Bleach ‘Renji’ figure that came without a head. The head I used came from a Mr. Fantastic ML figure and was sanded down and resculpted (the machine parts). The wiring across his face actually started life as pieces of paper clips that I bent, glued on and then sculpted over. Unfortunately, because of the way the neck was set up and how I intended to originally do the project, the head ended up being attached to the neck and does NOT move at all (although other articulation makes up for it pretty well). The ‘Kuma’ bear head came from a Morbs figure (basically a hinged ping pong ball) and was cleaned out a bit, sculpted on and then painted. The head is actually two halves on a hinge that click together, so it is fairly easy to remove. Swords were from the fodder bin. I also gave him a spare base to help balance him better and give him something appropriate to stand on. Of course, everything was pretty much repainted and then sealed. ![]() |
