The figure is an unmodified Professor X from the Marvel Legends line. But the hover chair is the story with this custom. Starting with the old, early 90's Toy Biz Professor X, I chopped up that figure's hover chair, saving the hinged computer panels, seat, and front end. I then built a new chair out of styrene. Once I had the general shape I liked, I laid Magic Sculpt over the whole thing and sculpted it into a chair that looked as close as it could to the comic book version of the chair, adding various computer and indicator panels, side and rear thruster ports, and an entirely new control panel in front of Professor X, including a screen used to monitor his team (which is fixed on Jean Grey). The paint job is a mix of Chrome Yellow, Flourescent Yellow, Reefer Yellow, and Gold, with a nice Crimson for the seat cushions, and black, silver, chrome, yellow, blue, green, and red accents. I also made up a little plaid wool blanket to cover the Professor's legs. I really tried to make the chair that we all hoped for but didn't get when we heard Marvel Legends was putting out a Professor X figure.
