Okay, I'm a BIIIIIIIIIIG fan of the old New Adventures of Superboy comic series from the 1980's. In issue 49, cover dated January 1984, we are introduced to a villain called Turlock the Berzerker, an evil barbarian from another dimension who battled the Boy of Steel and Zatara the Magician.

So, to do this I first took a DC Universe Classics B'Wana Beast and removed the head and forearms. Next, I used my Dremel to sand off the boots just below the boot cuff, and the following that, I sanded the boot cuff off. Next, I borrowed optimusleo's recipe and took the boots from a 200x Battle Sound He-Man figure, which I removed the feet from and used my Dremel to create a cavity at the top for the sanded legs to be inserted into, and then I attached the feet from a DC Universe Classics Indigo Lantern Atom with some glue. Once the glue had dried, I inserted some Milliput into the cavity at the top of the boots and then jammed the legs into it to create a more snug fit. Removing the legs from the Milliput cavity to allow the Milliput to dry properly, I applied a strip of Milliput around the seam between the He-Man boot and the Atom foot. Once all of the Milliput had dried, I lightly sanded the bit inside the cavity to make it smooth, and then shaped the bit around the seams to make it look more like the original leather straps of the He-Man figure. With the sanding now completed, I completed a full repaint of the modified boots in two coats of Testors Model Masters Lizard Brown for the fur and two coats of Testors Model Masters Burnt Sienna for the leather straps. Next, gave the modified lower legs two coats of a home brewed flesh tone paint that more closely matched the skin of the B'Wana Beast figure. When the paint had dried, I glued the boots in place on the legs. Once the glue had dried, I gave the newly created lower legs two coats of flat clear.

With the lower legs now completed, I began work on the loin cloth. To make it and the trunks underneath more closely match that worn by Turlock the Berzerker in the comics, I gave the loin cloth and trunks two generous coats of Testors Model Masters Napoleonic Violet, followed by two generous coats of flat clear.

Next, I took the forearms from a DC Universe Classics Golden Age Atom and attached them to the B'Wana Beast body. I next replaced the right fist with one from Indigo Lantern Atom, which I had slightly modified to remove the power ring from. With the forearms now attached, I gave the bracers a generous coat of Testors Model Masters Burnt Sienna and the elbows and hands two generous coats of the home brewed flesh tone paint that more closely matched the skin of the B'Wana Beast figure. When the paint had dried, I gave the forearms and hands two coats of flat clear.

With the body itself now completed, I started work on the last and most important detail, the head. For the head, I used the head from a Mattel WWE Daniel Bryan (the Daniel Bryan I found to be the perfect fit for Turlock the Berzerker due to the medium beard and short hair). To make the Daniel Bryan head work properly, I gave all exposed areas of skin two generous coats of the home brewed flesh tone paint that more closely matched the skin of the B'Wana Beast figure, and Testors Model Masters Flat Black for the hair, beard, and eyebrows. When the paint had dried, I attached the head to the body, and then gave the head two generous coats of flat clear. When the flat clear had finally dried, I gave the figure the sword from a DC Universe Classics Bronze Tiger, and TA-DA...Turlock the Berzerker, enemy of Superboy!!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.

Turlock is indeed a barbarian type character, equal parts Conan and He-Man, but completely evil...it took the combined powers of Superboy, Zatara, and Johnny Weber (AKA Dyna-Mind...another Superboy foe) to defeat him. I'm glad that you liked him...it took me two years to get everything that I needed to make him, but I think he turned out really well.
