Bludgeon G1/Legends Style (Transformers) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:68125
Name:Bludgeon G1/Legends Style
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Transformers
Creator:Mosh
Date Added:November 30, 2014
Base Figure:some wrestler muscle man
Height:6.00 inches
Completion Time:120.00 hours
Scratch sculpted head, chest, arm and leg details. Made castings of some parts from G1 Bludgeon, and modified the parts to fit my custom. Includes Helmet, plasma rifle, tank pretender, turret/arm shield, barrel/hand gun, sword and fallen Autobot base. I got a bit carried away making a detailed base/flight stand that has the remains of a destroyed Autobot amongst the rubble. I started this project ten years ago then lost inspiration and left him barely started, in a drawer until a couple of months ago when I started to rework what I had done a decade ago! Over a hundred hours of sculpting, casting and painting later, and I am proud of how he turned out. The original Pretender toy only has two points of articulation at the shoulders. It's cool to finally be able to do more than just move this awesome character's arms up and down. I love redoing 80s toys and remaking them with modern sculpting detail and articulation!

Always kinda loved Bludgeon. He's just got such a spiffy design.
I like your take on him. Very gritty, very nasty, and very humanoid, more of a pretender really. Great piece - a lot of fun.

Thanks man! I usually keep my customs on the dark and gritty side of things. I love this character too! I always thought that the Decepticon pretenders looked like giant Battle Beasts, and I have always loved Battle Beasts!

This was my favorite of the smaller Pretenders! Great job!

I totally agree. I really wish I hadn't sold mine for $90 mint on card about twelve years ago! I just finally completed my current one this summer with parts I scored at a yard sale. I want to make a bunch of the Decepticon pretenders but there are so many projects to complete, so we'll have to wait and see who I get around to next.

80 issues in the US run. I have over 300 of the Marvel UK run. Bludgeon featured in several of the UK stories too and made an enemy out of the guy who's name and avatar image I use. That comic was one of the things that got me into being creative. Particularly due to the artwork of Lee Sullivan and Geoff Senior. Ah, good times. Damn this figure is cool... Who was the victim on the stand though? :O

Wow! That's a lot of UK books! The fallen Autobot is a random beast wars arm, a toy truck door, a dollar store gun and some bits of dollar store robots. Oh yeah, and some silver threads sticking out of his neck hole that look like wires.

Just looked at the ebay auction and saw how the 'inner robot' instead sticks onto the back. Actually works very well due to how compact and 'blocky' the lil guy is. Certainly looks like a back pack. Hm this site is frustrating. So many cool customs and every one is way out of my budget. :P

Ah the Bludgeon you mentioned in your reply to my comment on your Zartan! Looks awesome. Big fan of the character (and the RotF Voyager with the Headrobots head/swords is my fave Decepticon toy ever) and this looks great. Faithful to the original G1 toy design (if not able to open up as a Pretender) but able to finally do all those cool Metallikato moves he did in the Marvel comics. Awesome work.

Thanks! Glad you like it. Make no mistake, this is Marvel comics Bludgeon all the way. I love the old Marvel run of Transformers comics, (especially the last twenty or so issues) and I own all eighty issues. I think I might make another decepticon pretender soon because this guy was so much fun to make.
