Ridley is a high-ranking Space Pirate and the archenemy of Samus Aran. Ridley is known for being very defiant and persistent; though Samus has defeated him many times, he always manages to return and do battle with her, either through his healing abilities or robotic enhancements. As such, Ridley is fittingly referred to as the Cunning God of Death. Also, while many of his enhancements are temporary, he consistently has a radio transmitter implanted at the base of his skull, allowing him to maintain constant communication with the Space Pirates.

Alright, so, I've wanted to make Ridley for a while, and he fits for this contest by a hair. Meta Ridley would have been more appropriate, but due to desire to make original Ridley and lack of appropriate fodder for Meta, I went with original Ridley. The body is from a NECA Xenomorph Warrior. Fitting, considering Ridley was based on the Xenomorph. The head, neck, and wings came from a Transformers build a figure kit, can't remember the name but it's the one with two pterodactyl heads. Description says height is 7 inches; when he is crouching, he stands at about 7 inches, but mid stand like in picture 3 about 8.5-9 inches and from tip of tail to tip of nose (with neck extended) is over 12 inches. The the sculpted parts are the membrane on the wings, gaps in the neck pieces, shoulders, most of the head (the base was used as a shape guide), the back (both for spines and wing connection), and the tip of the tail. Compounds used were Fixit and ProCreate, both are two part epoxy putties. Most details were dremeled into shape, including body and wing damage, however the teeth were particularly challenging as I had to super glue most of them back in. Articulation includes all that of the Xenomorph as well as 3 extras in the neck, and also including the mouth. Tail is fully poseable as it was with the Xenomorph. The Samus in the third picture is the Figma Samus and is only shown for flavor.

The paint was from a selection of Testors MM Acryl, Tamiya, and Citadel paints. A white base coat was put on the entire figure. Then, a deep, almost navy blue, purple was painted across everything but the wing membrane. After that, all blue parts were dry brushed with a more even, lighter purple. Then again with an even lighter purple. Teeth and wing claws were base coated a mix of tan and yellow. Wing membrane was coated with a mix of tan and reddish brown, then the membrane, teeth, and claws were washed with Citadel Agrax Earthshade. Tongue was painted with a mix of green and red (mostly green) at the base, and red and reddish-brown at the tip, with a dry brush of both colors around the center for color transition.Eyes were a mix of Tamiya flat yellow, Citadel Averland Sunset (a deeper yellow), and a tiny bit of Citadel Mephisto Red. Eyes were also washed with Agrax Earthshade.

This is, in my opinion, my best figure yet by far, and might be for a while. I couldn't have done this without many of the tutorials here, as well as your comments and even your own customs. Thanks, guys.
