Where to begin with this one...I was commissioned to make a DCUC "male" looking Phantasm since in the beginning of the movie we are teased with him being Karl Beaumont and looks a bit buff (plus the dcuc female bodies would look too scrawny)but he wanted it without a removable cowl. This was a great opportunity to make one like the gods intended so I set to make 2 One for my customer with his specifications and another one closer to the old Kenner one.

I chose a Marvel Legends female base figure for the female one since they are buff enough without looking too manly. The cowl on both was sculpted from scratch using flexible apoxie for the lower parts, The mask was also sculpted from scratch. The scythe for the male version had to be done out of Styrene sheeting, cut, carved and sanded to look like a sharp blade (and it was really sharp!) On the female version, I did used the scythe of the old Kenner figure, however the gap on the side was filled up, straps resculpted, and the entire blade painted.

In addition the female version has a swappable head sculpted with Andrea's hair and interchangeable hand. I love how this one turned out and will stand proudly next to the upcoming one from Dc Collectibles!
