Aztek is a super-hero trained from birth by the mysterious Q Society, a secret organization dedicated to providing a champion for Quetzalcoatl. His mission is to prepare for the eventual second coming of the dark god Tezcatlipoca, and he spends his days protecting the city of Vanity, Oregon. He later goes on to become a member of the JLA .
