Doc Savage made from an overmuscled Zorro/Don Diego. Sculpted his face according to James Bama illos, which basically means you take a skull and lay on the muscles, then add a cleft chin and hawk nose. Mods to the body are mostly to cut and extend the thighs and calves to make him taller. Added the "wings" to make jodhpurs, skinned and split the pirate boots to make riding boots with thread for laces. The shirt is brown coffee filter paper, which has long strong fibers to resist tearing when wet. He's posed in that "turning toward danger" that Bama used to such great effect. He's somewhat out of proportion, but I like the big meathook hands that were all Doc carried into danger: his hands and his brains. Part of my rooftop diorama with his gang vs the Three-Headed Cobra and his minions. And would you believe, just as I was finished-finished, I sprayed him with Dullcote, which knocked him over, bunging his nose and picking up smuts. Talk about losing the ship for a half-penny's worth of tar. Live and learn. Please wait... |
