With the images of Batman and Robin appearing in the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the figures. So of course, I decided to make my own. The natural choice for the bases were the respective figures from the Batman: Arkham City toy line.

Batman:
I did a head swap with the two different versions of the Arkham City Batman because I liked the texture on the body armor of one but the realistic detailed head of the other. I had to cut off the long ears and sculpt over the cowl to give it a wide, thicker look. I also lowered the cheek part of the mask to lessen the exposure of the mouth opening. I used a black matte paint to give it a smooth dull texture. Then I had to sculpt the fat bat logo on the chest, taking care to add the ribbed texture. Then I sculpted the belt buckle into a simple, bigger rectangle and had to add additional pouches between the seperated pouches. I gave it an old gold paint job. Then I had to paint the underwear to match the all grey. Once the colors were set, I did a simple black wash on the entire figure. Then I dry brushed the facial hair to make him look more like Ben Affleck. I replaced the rubber cape with a cloth cape to give it a more fluid look.

Robin:
I removed the head and hoody and replaced it with a movie Steve Rogers head. I painted the hair black and added the mask. I sculpted the rectangular buckles on his body armor. Then I painted the buckles and "R" gold to match the belt. I painted the exposed fingers to conver the gloves into closed fingered gloves as seen in the trailer. I did a black wash over the figure and added a Gambit bow staff since it had high tech grooves and details.

I am very happy with how they turned out. I almost got rid of these figures but am glad I kept them to make these customs. I can't wait to see them both on screen!
