This character is from the Onimusha universe. Since Nobunaga was resurrected by the Demons called "Genma", there was no peace in Japan's lands. Nobunagas demonized army and all sorts of Genma striked villages, towns and forts, killing mercyless anyone on their way. But there were some fearless warriors, fighting until their last breath in the name of their lords, homelands and honour. But how dared they, these stupid beasts, prey of the Genma, raise their swords against the rightful rulers of the world? Guildenstern, the Genma-scientist, creator of many Genma-Warriors, the Demon-God's most loyal servant decided to show these humans what they are. He brought some of these wounded samurai down in his laboratory, and mixed their blood and innards with those of wild beasts. When he was finished, he let them run, to be tracked down by both humans and demons: humans thought those monsters are the Genma, for Genma they remained prey. But some of these Half-Beast-Half-Human-Warriors kept to their human heart, and carried on their war against the Genma for the mankind. And here we are! This contribution is more a tribute to the original figure rather than a participation in a contest, just wanted to show that pure chinese figures can be quite amazing. I got this figure when I was 13, and found it some days ago when I was sorting out toys for sale. The base figure was a nameless samurai-ninja-panther warrior by "Chap Mei", the rumored chinese toy-brand which from times to times brought up quite descent action figures, specially when it came to animals and beasts. There were two series, "Ninja Morph" and "Ninja Curse", but both where the same - 7 (or more) combinable figures, 4 human(oid) and 3 beast-mutants. In bigger packages the beasts had an additional human head and a pair of human feet, to make them mutate from monsters to humans and anther way around. Originally, this guy had 3 shuriken and 3 weapons, but as a kid I lost most of it. The figure has a high-quality sculpt, at least one you would not expect from a chinese noname-toyline figure - a lot of details like dents on his armor and weapons, detailed armor sculpt, armor mesh under his cuirass ... but the paint was really cheap. While his chest was flatly painted with red and gold, his back was unpainted and had just flat brown plastic colour, just as his arms, upper legs and even hands. His gloves where painted a flat red, the armor on his neck and the shuriken-holder on his leg were unpainted. Only his shoulder- and lower leg-armor had a dark gold drywashed paint. His weapons were a brownish-grey. I looked at him for a while, and decided to repaint him a bit. I ended up editing his upper arms, chest-armor and creating a new sword additionally. The result is 1) detailed, mostly shaded repaint of the whole figure 2) upper arms without the strange spikes he had on his ellbows 3) a green gem on his chest matching to his eye-colour instead of a panther-head symbol 4) 90% sculpted sword. I cut the spikes and the panther-logo with a warmed up cutter. The gem comes from a cheap "princess-ring", and is a piece of green translucent plastic I shaped with a cutter, coated by some cheap air-drying clay. The sword is made of a handle from his original weapon (you see it on the pic with details, I cut the handle out to be sure the weapon I make will fit in to his hands and weapon-holder on his back), the rest is painted black fimo classic and piece of a chain I found. It's my first time I sculpted something more complex, even with a sculpted piece of cloth wrapped around the handle (I mean the dark red part ...) Chinese figure, huh? ;) ![]() |

Thank you, I'll try something more complex next time
Funny thing is that with some resculpts and additions like a tail and robes instead of the armor, he would look like Splinter
