Jabba has always been one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I've always played around with the idea of making him and now I finally did. I used ROTJ as a reference for the head sculpt and freestyled the body. I wanted him to look a bit younger and less immobile than ROTJ Jabba. He's aprox. 6" tall. As for Jabba's throne, I deceided to design something different than the movie version. That throne has been copied many times and allthough it's a fantastic looking piece of furniture, I've always had trouble seeing it as a throne. So I looked at images of custom thrones, official statues & playsets and the early designs & concepts for "Jedi". Some of those early concepts depict Jabba's throne as an actual stone structure and not just a stone slab. I like that and deceided to go that route. I also really like Jabba's tattoo and thought it'd be cool to incorporate the Desilijic Kajidic symbol in the throne. I sculpted all the little accessories; pillows, plate of food and the two stone karafs. Those are a little ode to the original Jabba The Hutt Maquette by Phil Tippett. I sculpted the hookah and used a plastic ball (obviously) for the top and some RC Car fuel-line for the hose. Added some pieces of cloth to complete the look. Painted with several brands of model paints. Thanks for looking! ![]() |
