I've been trying to step up my game a bit lately. This started out as just a practice ground for different techniques and ideas and slowly morphed into an attempt at He-Man. Somewhere along the way, it decided it wanted to be something else, so I rolled with it.
I really liked the Hercules body for this, but it seemed oddly proportioned when I got it in hand, so I made a few adjustments. Popped him apart and built up the lower torso and sculpted a new ab section, along with some dremelling and sculpting on the lower back. I had originally added the bottom half of a masters of the universe loincloth for the intended He-Man, so I sculpted extra to the top to give it a better Conan feel.
I couldn't make up my mind on some of the weapons, so ended up sculpting out two swords and scabbards, along with cutting down a fodder sword and making a dagger out of it. Then made the sheath for that too. The necklace and bandanna type thing were also sculpted.
Head was from a fantastic 4 silver surfer and sculpted the hair. Again, the Hercules head seemed small for the body, so I had to do some fodder digging to find a head that would size up right. The gauntlets, boots and various straps were all sculpted too.
I've been working on this one on the side for a while now, and I finally invested on a decent light tent to hopefully make some better pictures. I'm still testing out different lighting directions and such, so I hope the pics turned out well. There are some incredible Conans on the realm, so I hope my He-Man attempt turned to a life of barbarism holds up among them. Thanks folks.
